The CIXP is a distributed layer 2 infrastructure with switched 10M/100M/1G/10G ports. 1Gbps ports can be baseT, base SX and LX. 10Gbps can be baseSR and LR. Juniper switches are used.
IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are provided for peerings.
Connection to the CIXP does not provide any automatic connectivity. In order to get connectivity to other networks it is the full responsibility of the ISP to make agreements and/or subscribe to such services via other ISPs located on the CIXP or elsewhere.
- The ISP is responsible for all installation, management and fault handling of its equipment.
- Before being allowed to connect to the CIXP the ISP must have peering agreements with at least two (2) other ISPs already connected to the CIXP.
- It is the full responsibility of the ISP to order and install a line to the CIXP and a router to connect it to. The configuration and management of the router is also the full responsibility of the ISP. The router must be clearly labeled as belonging to the ISP.
- The ISP must have its own Autonomous System number, and register its routing policy in the RIPE routing registry. AS-numbers are only obtainable from RIPE to funding contributors of the RIPE-NCC and cannot be supplied by the CIXP.
- CIXP support staff will make a best effort to assist in problem resolution during working hours.
